A weekend of friends

We had such a fun weekend when our friend Priya stayed with us and our friends Mike, Emily and Katya came for a visit too. We all went down to the beach in Quincy on Friday and romped around in the water. Priya's dogs went swimming for the first time and seemed to enjoy it- well, at least one of them did. Caroline slept through the whole affair, as she does with most of the fun things we do...

On Saturday, we went to the beach again- this time in Hingham. We were planning to take a ride in the kayak, but it was really low tide, and when Mike and Priya went to put it in, they got stuck shin-deep in the mud. So that plan didn't really work. Then we finished up the day with a barbecue in Cambridge.

Sunday we had breakfast with the whole crew in Boston and then walked around in the Public Garden. It was a lovely day. In the evening, Mike stayed home and took care of a cranky Caroline while I snuck off to book club in the midst of a torrential rainstorm. He's so good.

Caroline seemed to have fun getting to know Priya's pooches. She's never spent much time around animals before, so it was a whole new world. She didn't seem to mind Kozar licking at her hands and feet. Of course I was ready with the hand sanitizer and wipes to clean her up after!
