Weekend fun

On our first weekend back, we went to a birthday party for our little friend Noelle, who was turning one. It was a great party with lots of our playgroup pals. Great work, Deanna!

And our friends Anna and Langdon spent the night, which was fun as always. We usually play Catan, but I guess last time we played they accidentally brought it home with them, so we had to get creative. So... they taught us bridge. What fun. We've played once or twice before, but it was great to relearn. I see many fun nights ahead.

On Sunday we went over to Mike's parents house and we all went out on the ice for a while. It is interesting how the frozen lake comes alive in winter. People are out there in their fishing huts, people clear off snow to create ice rinks, people are walking their dogs, even riding bicycles!! Caroline loves getting otu there and crawling and rolling around on her belly (thank goodness for proper snow clothes). We took the twins out too- Mirabelle in the sled and Julianne in our arms. They seemed to like it well enough, though I think it was a little too bright for them.

One of Caroline's favorite Christmas toys is this easel. It has chalkboard on one side, and white board on the other, and a roll of butcher paper in the middle. Caroline is very excited about painting. We don't have a painters smock, so she strips down for painting time!
