Girls weekend!

A few of my girlfriends from my Bridgespan days came to visit us this weekend. We try to get together every so often, now that we don't get to work together. They were excited to come meet the twins and see Caroline, and I was happy to get some girl time and show them our life here in Madison.

They came on Thursday and we had a mellow evening barbecuing and talking until the wee hours. Friday we had a big breakfast and then went to check out Madison. Nana watched Caroline and we took the twins along for a walk down State street for some shopping and some ice cream at the UW union terrace by the lake. It was such a fun day! That night, after we got the girls to bed, we went out for a night on the town. We had a bit of an impromptu bachelorette party for Jen, who recently got engaged. It was great to get out, since I don't do that much. We tried to go dancing, but the only place in town that has a dancefloor was having a "freak" party, which, while thoroughly entertaining, wasn't exactly our scene... So then we went to another more mellow place to have a drink and catch up. Lots of fun!

Saturday, a bunch of them left to go to a friend's wedding in Chicago, but Harpreet stayed for the day to hang out with us. We had a mellow day- just did some shopping and spent lots of time with the girls.
