A different sort of picnic...

Our friends Dave and Meredith had a party to celebrate their birthdays on Saturday. We were supposed to go out to an apple orchard for a picnic and some apple picking. But alas, it has been raining for 3 days straight, so it wasn't meant to be. Instead, we went to their place for a special, indoor picnic. Meredith was a creative genius with her decorations! We had a potluck, and I brought a swiss chard quiche- Mike's mom Jane's recipe- which was a big hit. There were lots of other kids and babies there, which was fun too. Mike missed the fun to watch the Michigan/Wisconsin football game with some friends, which, if you know how that game ended, turned out to be a questionable choice of activities for the day.
