Oma's visit

My mom came out to visit us for a week for the girls baptism. It was so great to have her here, as always. She did great taking care of the twins and playing with Caroline. Mike was away in Maine for work for the whole week, so it was actually pretty lucky timing. It was SO nice to have her help every day and night.

She mentioned (several times) how hard our lives were right now. I guess it is reassuring to hear it from someone else :) Although, by and large, I'm feeling better about how everything is going in life, and feel like I'm past the frustration/depression/fighting with Mike. Not that I (we) don't still have moments... but generally things are a bit better.

She mentioned that she thought the twins seemed crankier than typical 4 month olds, so she suggested getting them on some anti-reflux medication, which we're trying now and it seems to be working at least a little bit.

She took Caroline out on all sorts of adventures- to the library and the museum and the store and more. She and Mike's mom Jane made memory boxes for each of the girls with pieces of their wedding dresses (already cut up for the baptism) and pictures from their weddings and from the baptism. It was really sweet. Also sweet (literally) was the crazy gingerbread house they made.

Thanks for everything, mom!

Is this little coat and hat cute, or what? Oma knows how to spoil this girl.
