The other night, when we got home from her grandparents house, Caroline stripped naked in the middle of the living room. We didn't stop her. Good thing, because once she was naked, she ran to the bathroom and sat down to make a poo poo. It was pretty miraculous, because that's the one thing she's had trouble doing in this potty training adventure. She's usually half done by the time she says something or we notice her. Also, she isn't usually good about telling us she has to go- we usually just reminder pretty regularly. So this was cause for enormous celebration. Then, she just hung out naked for a while. We were sitting on the couch and she said, "Potty" and ran to bathroom where she had another poop. Thank goodness she realized that and didn't just poop on the couch!
Another funny moment... we asked Caroline if she was a boy or a girl, and she said "boy". Then we told her that mama and nana were girls, and daddy and papa were boys. What are you? "Boy!" Again, and again, and again. I think she thinks everyone is a boy. Oh well.
Have I mentioned that she is obsessed with the color blue and polka dots? She always wants blue M&M's, her blue cup, her blue tutu... everything. And any clothing with polka dots on it get worn first thing after the laundry. And even when it is dirty, she tries to pull it out for a second round. Then she points to all of the spots, saying, "polka dot, polka dot". It is adorable.
She also continues to obsess over her rubber boots. She would wear these every day if she could. Even when she has naked time, she wants her boots on. She couldn't get them over her footie-PJs, so she wore them on her hands (daddy's brilliant idea to stem the massive crying attack)...
She's newly independent, and always wants to do everything herself. Peel her own oranges, put on her own clothes, etc. Never mind that she's not especially good at these tasks (2 legs in one pant-leg, shoes on backwards, etc.)and really needs help if it is going to take less than 20 minutes. She grabs things away and says "my do it." I try to encourage her, but sometimes I just need to get her shoes on so we can go, and then she has a big fit. Oh well.
