Caroline with her new baby cabbage patch twins from Oma
Caroline turns 23 months old today. Only one more month of 1. Then she'll officially be "terrible", instead of just occasionally getting that title :)
Its been a really big month for our little darling. So many accomplishments. Over the past week, Caroline has officially become potty trained. In the past 5 days, she's only had 2 accidents, so I think we're at least most of the way there. She just seemed like she was ready- often waking up from naps on the in the morning dry, and being more eager to try the potty. So we gave it a whirl. We started on Friday, at Nana's house, and she made it to the potty about half the time, and went in her pants about half the time. Same thing the next day, while we were running around to her cousin Henry's birthday party and such. Sunday she regressed a bit, and must have peed in her pants 8 times. I was almost ready to quit. Then from Monday to Friday, only 2 accidents on one morning when she was getting sick. So three days of a little pain and we're golden. I'm sure there will be accidents again, but at least we're in panties.
Caroline has also really become quite the talker. She talks in sentences a lot, she says things like thank you at appropriate times (and sometimes even without a reminder!) and she really just seems to be a little person. Its hard to remember when she wasn't talking like this. It just seems natural.
She also just learned all of her colors all of a sudden, and rarely gets them wrong now. Counting... well, we need to work on that. Now she counts "two, three, two, three" Never quite made it to four, and who needs one? She's definitely interested in letters and reading. Whenever she sees words, she says, "A, A, A, A." All letters are A.
She is also getting much better at sharing. We hosted playgroup this past week and she only had one little fit over her dolly, but otherwise was great at letting everyone play with all her stuff.
She has also really started asserting what she wants, and becoming more vocal when she doesn't get it. We had our first public temper tantrum at the post-office. She was just having too much fun running around and didn't want to put her jacket on and go home. So she squirmed away, shouted "NO" about 50 times, even threw herself on the ground. Oh, this is going to be a fun stage!
But really, by and large, she's been perfectly adorable. I'm really loving this age. I just feel like she's becoming this little girl before my eyes, and I love it!
