Sixteen months and talking up a storm

Caroline is 16 months old and a bundle of fun. She has really turned a corner on the language front. She repeats everything we say. Thank goodness we're reforming our own language with the cussing jar- I've put WAY too much money in that thing! It is going into her college fund and she'll be able to afford any fancy private school she wants at this rate...

But her latest favorite new phrase is "no, no, no!", while wagging her finger. Oh no. I guess this is my fault! But really, it is pretty cute. It is just amazing how much more she understands now and how much better she can communicate. I think she has somewhere around 25 words- some, like baby and ball, she says all the time. Others she's just started using, like cracker (more like cah-cuh, but we'll take it).

She's trying to transition from two naps a day to one nap, and fluctuates from day to day, but luckily she's pretty adaptive, so we don't have to just plan everything around her sleep schedule. She loves running around, swinging in her new bucket swing on the porch, and playing with her zillion toys. We just got a few new things at garage sales: a tricycle that you can push along (she can't reach the pedals yet, but there are spots for her feet to sit) and a couple wooden puzzles that she's really good at taking apart and still working on getting back together. She loves pushing around her baby in her mini stroller and her shopping cart too. She's an adorable little dancer and is starting to actually watch Sesame Street for more than 30 seconds at a time. She loves being outside and gets all whiny if we stay inside too long. She's a total water baby and LOVES playing with any water that is around- baby pool, splash park, water table, lake, fountains, etc. She waits for her daddy to come home every day and will get sad if she hears a noise and thinks it is him but it isn't. When she's tired, she's so snuggly. Oh, we love this girl!
