Eight months of fun

Our sweet Caroline turns eight months old today.
She is doing so great! She's at such a fun age now! She is so interactive and really seems to have more of a grasp of what is going on around her. She is responsive and finds a lot more ways to communicate how she's feeling or what she wants (other than crying, which she is still doing on occasion!)

She is crawling around like a madwoman and starting to pull herself up on things. For the most part, this doesn't generally end well. She often gets up to about her knees and then falls and bangs her head on the table or the toy or the floor or something else. So we have to be pretty vigilant. You can never leave her alone on the floor anymore- she's got to go in her playpen or her excersaucer.

She's quite a talker- she makes noise all the time and says mama and dada a lot. I do think she's at least starting to know what they mean- she seems to say mama to me and dada more to Mike, but who knows, really...

She's also starting to get a bit more attached, and will fuss when I leave the room. Hasn't had too much stranger anxiety though. My friend Rachel came to babysit while Mike and I had date night- which was fantastic! Caroline had a great time with her.

She eats better now too. She has started eating more solid food- cheerios and little pieces of bananas and peaches. She's doing better with the babyfood too, though still not fantastic. But she's drinking loads of milk and growing like a weed. We tried to weigh her the other day and it looked like she was 16 pounds, but its so imprecise, so we'll wait til her doctors appt next month.
Oh- and my new favorite thing- she giggles so much when you tickle her! She has the cutest, sweetest laugh. I just love it!

Happy birthday, baby!
