The rest of our trip was loads of fun. The weather was a bit dreary for a bunch of days, but finally got sunny by the end of our trip. Caroline had fun playing with her new toys and crawling all over the place. She mastered stairs, which is a scary prospect, since we don't have gates up yet at home... But Jane and Joe have 2 steps leading from the kitchen/dining room down to the living room, so she practiced going up and down, up and down, ad nauseum. We were highly protective after a couple of early face plants, but she really got it down by the end. She also climbed all the way up to the upstairs, but with loads of supervision, of course. And we didn't let her climb back down those!
We got to catch up with a bunch of friends while we were in town. We had lunch with my old college pal John, and we visited with Mike's college buddy Ryan and his wife Jen and new baby Jacob. We didn't get to bring Caroline on those visits, though, because she came down with a cold and we didn't want to infect anyone else's children... Especially since Jacob is only a week old! He was so little and adorable. Hard to remember when Caroline was that small. I had hoped to see my friend Anna and her baby Eliza, who recently moved from Boston to Madison, but alas, they were out of town. Next time!
We took a trip to Klasen's bakery to see their insane gingerbread house. (Yes, my hat says "nice"... the opposite side says "naughty.") Caroline is wearing a great little fleece outfit that her nana made for her
