Fun with the grandparents

Caroline has had a lot of fun with her grandparents lately. In fact, we just got home from spending the afternoon and evening at their house. We took Caroline to the splash park- she's getting so much more brave... going up and touching the water, giggling when it splashes all over her. What a doll. Then Jane cooked us up a delicious dinner, and we all took a great boat ride on the lake at sunset. So much fun! I love being able to just pop over there whenever. They're also a great help with watching her when we need some babysitting.

This week, we had a bit of a fiasco when Mike accidentally took the carseat to work, but I had a phone interview. Since I couldn't take Caroline anywhere, Jane just came over here to watch her. And last week, we went to look at houses near Milwaukee (just checking out the scene for now... not making any offers or planning to move just yet), so Caroline spent the whole day with Nana and Papa. Here they are at an event at the park nearby.

Caroline helps Papa with the rakingThen she needs a little rest...Before the real fun begins! (This is my latest favorite picture!)
A few of the super cute things that Caroline is doing lately, that I can't get enough of:

  • She does this funny little run where she twists her little booty one way and her arms the other, like a fancy-pants stomping off somewhere, and it is just hysterical. I'll work on getting a video of that.
  • We're trying to teach her how to kiss with her mouth closed. She hasn't picked up on that just yet, but now she goes "Mmmm-wah" when she kisses. So cute.
  • She dances anytime she hears music of any sort. She has this funny stuffed animal from my friend Jen that sings "hot stuff" and she insists on playing it over and over again, and she just boogies down. Also, she now does the actual chicken dance with Elmo. Well, at least the elbow-flapping bit. Will work on video for that too!
